This cohort will be compared to a group of patients who have been undergoing CPAP therapy for at least 3 months. The primary objective is to assess the presence and severity of cognitive symptoms, commonly referred to as \"Brain Fog,\" which includes impairments in memory, attention, and concentration. Participants in this group will complete a one-time assessment, which will involve various scales to evaluate cognitive function, sleep quality, daytime sleepiness, and fatigue levels. This study aims to provide insights into the cognitive impacts of untreated severe OSA, thereby highlighting the potential benefits of initiating CPAP therapy.",[16,21],{"name":17,"role":18,"phone":19,"phoneExt":10,"email":20},"Eleonora Volpato, PhD","CONTACT","3293782692","eleonora.volpato@unicatt.it",{"name":22,"role":18,"phone":23,"phoneExt":10,"email":24},"Valentina Poletti, MS","3485446235","valentina.poletti@unicatt.it",[26],{"facility":27,"status":28,"city":29,"state":30,"zip":31,"country":32,"countryCode":33,"cosmosGeoPoint":34,"geoPoint":39,"contacts":40},"IRCCS Fondazione Don Gnocchi","RECRUITING","Milan","MI","20148","Italy","IT",{"type":35,"coordinates":36},"Point",[37,38],12.59836,42.78235,{"lat":38,"lon":37},[41],{"name":42,"role":18,"phone":23,"phoneExt":10,"email":43},"Valentina Poletti","valentinapoletti26496@gmail.com",{"type":45,"investigatorFullName":46,"investigatorTitle":47,"investigatorAffiliation":5,"oldNameTitle":10,"oldOrganization":10},"PRINCIPAL_INVESTIGATOR","Eleonora Volpato","Clinical Professor","100567151",false,"NCT06664450","Brain Fog in Sleep Apnea","Exploring Brain Fog Symptoms in Patients With Obstructive Sleep Apnea and CPAP Therapy Impact: A Pilot Study","BF -OSA","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patients with severe OSA treated with CPAP for at least 3 months.\n* Patients with severe OSA in new access and therefore not yet subjected to CPAP treatment.\n* Patients with severe OSA who are able to understand the Italian language.\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* Patients who do not have a certified diagnosis of severe OSA.\n* Patients with mild or moderate OSA.\n* Patients with OSA who are unable to understand the Italian language.\n* Patients with OSA who have neurological and\u002For oncological comorbidities, as verified by medical records.\n* Patients with documented cognitive deficits, as verified by medical records.\n* Patients with certified diagnoses of psychiatric disorders and\u002For substance use disorders (SUD), as verified by medical records.","ALL","18 Years",{"count":58,"type":59},80,"ESTIMATED","1 Day","OBSERVATIONAL","Objective: This observational, cross-sectional pilot study aims to assess \"Brain Fog\" (cognitive symptoms impacting memory, attention, and concentration) in severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) patients.
