Emotional intelligence refers to the ability to recognize, understand, regulate, and manage emotions in oneself and others. Previous studies suggest that emotional intelligence is associated with better relationship quality and psychological well-being; however, limited intervention-based evidence is available in Bangladesh.\n\nA pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design with intervention and control groups will be used. Married adults living in Dhaka City will be assessed on emotional intelligence, marital satisfaction, anxiety, depression, and mental well-being at baseline. Participants with lower emotional intelligence scores based on the baseline TEIQue-SF assessment will be selected for the intervention phase.\n\nThe intervention group will receive a structured emotional intelligence training program focusing on emotional awareness, emotion regulation, empathy, communication skills, and interpersonal problem-solving. Assessments will be conducted at baseline, post-intervention, and follow-up to evaluate changes in marital satisfaction and mental health outcomes.\n\nThe findings are expected to provide evidence regarding the effectiveness of emotional intelligence training as a low-cost, non-clinical intervention for improving marital relationships and psychological well-being among married individuals in Bangladesh.",[26,27],"Emotional Intelligence","Mental Health",[29,30,27,31],"Emotional Intelligence Training","Marital Satisfaction","Psychological Well-being","NOT_YET_RECRUITING","2026-05-24",{"date":35,"type":36},"2026-05-28","ACTUAL",{"date":38,"type":20},"2026-07-01",{"date":40,"type":20},"2027-01-31",{"name":42,"class":43},"University of Dhaka","OTHER",1,{"id":46,"slug":4,"hasResults":10,"nctId":47,"briefTitle":48,"officialTitle":49,"acronym":50,"eligibilityCriteria":51,"healthyVolunteers":14,"sex":15,"minAge":52,"maxAge":53,"enrollmentInfo":54,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":21,"phases":56,"briefSummary":57,"conditions":58,"keywords":61,"overallStatus":63,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":64,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":65,"startDateStruct":67,"completionDateStruct":69,"leadSponsor":71,"locationsCount":44},"100640714","NCT07591363","Improving Mental Health Through Emotional Intelligence Enhancement","Promoting Mental Health of Secondary School Teachers and Students Through Enhancing Their Emotional Intelligence in Dhaka City","EI-MH","Inclusion Criteria:\n\n* Participants include secondary school students aged 12-17 years and secondary school teachers aged 22-60 years.\n\n 1. students (both boys and girls) enrolled in Classes 7 to 10 in coeducational Bangla-medium secondary schools in Dhaka city;\n 2. teachers (male and female) who taught in these classes;\n 3. teachers who provided informed consent to participate in the training;\n 4. students who provided assent along with parental consent;\n 5. The main questions it aims to answer are:\n\nDoes RIMT improve respiratory function in individuals with SCI? What impact does RIMT have on the health-related quality of life of participants? What are the perceived exertion or dyspnoea levels in participants undergoing RIMT?
