This study will involve adults, 18-65 years old, without any gastrointestinal diseases.\n\nThe primary objectives are to characterize baseline VOC profiles, assess changes in these profiles after a short-term dietary fiber intervention, determine if specific VOC patterns correlate with dietary fiber intake, and identify the time points at which VOC levels peak. This information will help establish the optimal timing for breath sampling and potentially provide insight into how VOC patterns relate to dietary fiber consumption and degradation.\n\nThe expected outcome is that a high-dietary fiber diet will produce a VOC profile enriched in metabolites associated with fiber fermentation compared to a low-dietary fiber diet, and that these VOCs will be consistent with those identified in vitro during fecal fermentation. Each participant will serve as an internal control, enabling within-subject comparisons of VOC levels at baseline and following the dietary fiber intervention.\n\nParticipants will receive a whole-food product that is rich in dietary fiber and will consume either a low-fiber diet (10 g\u002Fday) or a high-fiber diet (40 g\u002Fday) for three days. On the first day of each intervention, participants will also ingest a pH capsule to monitor gastrointestinal pH continuously throughout the three days. After a three-week washout period, participants will cross over to the other intervention arm and undergo another round of gastrointestinal pH monitoring.\n\nIn addition to the dietary intervention, participants will complete food and health questionnaires to assess habitual fiber intake and dietary habits. Importantly, these problems can already be present in the early stages of the disease and may not be adequately captured by standard clinical walking tests, which primarily assess speed or distance. Such tests are often insufficient to reflect the complexity of real-life walking, which requires continuous adaptation to environmental challenges, and attention to internal and external stimuli.\n\nGait adaptability, the ability to modify walking patterns in response to changing and unpredictable demands such as obstacles or sudden perturbations, is critical for safe mobility and fall prevention. Both proactive (anticipatory) and reactive (feedback-driven) gait adaptations are essential for maintaining balance and functional independence. However, gait adaptability and its underlying neural mechanisms remain insufficiently understood in people with MS.\n\nThis study aims to provide a comprehensive assessment of gait adaptability in people with MS by evaluating both proactive and reactive gait adaptations using objective gait measurements and cortical activity recordings. The findings may contribute to the development of more sensitive outcome measures and inform targeted rehabilitation strategies that better reflect real-life mobility demands.\n\nPrimary aims:\n\n• To investigate the behavioral measures and neural correlates of reactive and proactive gait adaptability in pwMS compared to HC\n\nSecondary aims:\n\n* To investigate factors related to gait adaptability\n* To investigate changes in gait adaptability during prolonged walking conditions",[228,29],"Multiple Sclerosis",[230,231,232,233],"multiple sclerosis","gait","gait adaptability","balance","2026-05-05",{"date":236,"type":34},"2026-05-12",{"date":238,"type":34},"2025-12-05",{"date":240,"type":21},"2026-12-20",{"name":242,"class":116},"Hasselt University",{"id":244,"slug":4,"hasResults":11,"nctId":245,"briefTitle":246,"officialTitle":247,"acronym":4,"eligibilityCriteria":248,"healthyVolunteers":16,"sex":17,"minAge":18,"maxAge":4,"enrollmentInfo":249,"targetDuration":4,"studyType":22,"phases":251,"briefSummary":253,"conditions":254,"keywords":255,"overallStatus":65,"whyStopped":4,"lastUpdateSubmitDate":257,"lastUpdatePostDateStruct":258,"startDateStruct":259,"completionDateStruct":261,"leadSponsor":263,"locationsCount":264},"100626147","NCT07431853","A Study to Learn About mRNA Vaccines Against Influenza in Adults","A PHASE 2, RANDOMIZED, DOUBLE-BLIND, CLINICAL STUDY TO EVALUATE THE SAFETY, TOLERABILITY, AND IMMUNOGENICITY OF MRNA VACCINES AGAINST INFLUENZA IN ADULTS 18 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER","Inclusion Criteria\n\n• Healthy and medically stable participants who are determined by medical history, physical examination (if clinically required), and clinical judgment of the investigator to be eligible for inclusion in the study.\n\nExclusion Criteria\n\n* Tested positive for influenza ≤5 months (150 days) prior to Visit 1 (Day 1).\n* Vaccination with any investigational or licensed influenza vaccine ≤5 months (150 days) before Visit 1 (Day 1).\n* Receipt of antiviral therapies for influenza (eg, Tamiflu) ≤5 months (150 days) prior to Visit 1 (Day 1).",{"count":250,"type":21},770,[252],"PHASE2","The purpose of this study is to learn about safety in participants taking the study vaccine (mRNA-based vaccine) and the ability of the study vaccine to trigger the body's immune response, targeting the flu virus (influenza virus).\n\nThis study is seeking healthy participants 18 years of age or older.
