Body Awareness Therapy in High Stressed Young Adults: Effects on Function, Balance, Sleep and Mood

Body Awareness Therapy (BAT) is a holistic approach to human movement that considers the physical, physiological, psychological, and existential aspects of human existence. This planned randomized controlled study will be conducted on young adults with high stress levels. One group will be subjected to BAT and the other group will be the control group. The BAT exercises will be performed in supine, sitting and standing positions. In the BAT group, the exercises will be performed as a group exercise, not individually. After the initial evaluations in both the BAT and control groups, a re-evaluation will be performed at the end of 8 weeks. Functional capacity will be assessed with the 6-minute walk test, static balance with the single-leg balance test (eyes open-eyes closed), dynamic balance with the Y-balance test, psychological status with the Depression-Anxiety-Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21), and sleep quality with the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Scale. BAT will be performed 2 days per week for 8 weeks and will be continued progressively. This study will examine the effects of BaT on functional capacity, balance, sleep quality, and psychological state in young adults with high stress levels.

An Ecological Momentary Intervention for the Reduction of Impairment in Somatic Symptom Disorder

Persistent somatic symptoms significantly impair the daily lives of individuals with Somatic Symptom Disorder (SSD). Negative psychological factors (NPFs), such as catastrophizing and negative affectivity, further compound this impairment. Yet, few studies have examined strategies in daily life that directly target somatic symptoms and their dynamic relationship with NPFs. The goal of this clinical trial is to investigate if an Ecological Momentary Intervention (EMI) using music listening and cognitive reappraisal can reduce the intensity of and impairment due to somatic symptoms in 40 individuals with Somatic Symptom Disorder (SSD), aged 18-65 years. Participants will report symptom intensity, impairment, and NPFs up to four times daily via a smartphone app over a six-week period. Using an intraindividual randomized controlled design, during weeks two to five, participants will be randomly assigned in the ratio of 50:25:25 to no intervention, music listening, and cognitive reappraisal, both at fixed times (evening measurement) and during episodes of acute somatic impairment.

Optical Diagnosis of Neoplasia Using Artificial Intelligence

Computer-aided diagnosis (CADx) for colonoscopy aims to enhance optical diagnosis but often underperforms when used alongside humans due to under-reliance on AI. Psychological interventions like cognitive forcing, such as delaying CADx suggestions, may improve human-AI interaction by fostering critical assessment. However, their impact on patient-important outcomes remains unexplored. The investigators will conduct an ex-vivo randomized study with 70 endoscopists assessing 100 polyp videos (≤5 mm) using a CADx tool (GI Genius, Medtronic). Participants will be randomized to either: * Intervention group: CADx suggestions will be shown in the last 3 seconds of the 15 second polyp video. * Control group: CADx suggestions will be shown in real-time throughout the playback of the 15 second polyp video. The primary endpoint is sensitivity for high-confidence neoplasia detection, with secondary endpoints assessing endoscopists' reliance on AI. CADx systems on the market function in various ways, such as real-time, delayed, or on-demand diagnosis. Our study aims to inform users and manufacturers whether cognitive forcing through delayed CADx suggestions enhances human-AI interaction, leading to improved clinical outcomes.
