A Study of the Impact of a Virtual Reality Medical Device (HypnoVR® Headset) on Anxiety and Pain in Interventional Radiology.

Patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures frequently experience significant anxiety and procedural pain despite standard care. Virtual reality (VR) has emerged as a promising non-pharmacological tool for anxiety and pain reduction in various medical settings. The HYPNO-VR study is a prospective randomized controlled trial designed to evaluate the effect of immersive virtual reality during interventional radiology procedures. Participants will be randomized in a 1:1 ratio to either a virtual reality group or a standard care control group. The primary objective is to assess the impact of VR on procedural anxiety and pain using validated anxiety questionnaires (State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, STAI) and a numerical pain rating scale. Secondary and exploratory objectives include assessment of patient satisfaction, operator experience, procedural duration, analgesic use, and feasibility of VR integration in interventional radiology practice.

CT-guided Lung Biopsy Risk Optimization Method

The purpose of this randomized controlled study is to evaluate the extent to which injection of a small amount of fluid in the pleural cavity at the biopsy site may reduce the risk of pneumothoraces, in addition to patient positioning to allow biopsy in gravity-dependent areas of the lung.

RAdiology Consultation Effectiveness

Performing a consultation with the radiologist before a spinal invasive procedure serves to foster a trusting physician-patient relationship. It also provides an opportunity for the comprehensive explanation of the procedure, its aftermath, and any patient inquiries. We believe that this proactive approach has the potential to alleviate pre-procedure anxiety, thereby contributing to an enhanced overall experience of the intervention and its outcomes. Despite these potential benefits, it is noteworthy that such consultations are not systematically implemented, and their impact on the intervention effictness remains unexplored in existing literature. The hypothesis is grounded in the belief that patients who perform a consultation preceding their spinal intervention are likely to witness improvements in both the overall experience of the procedure and its effectiveness.

Dosimetric Reference Levels for Radioguided Interventional Procedures in Rhythmology.

Interventional radiology has become a widespread technique used in various fields of medicine to diagnose or treat numerous pathologies. However, the risk of X-rays must be taken into account. In 2019, the French Authority on Nuclear Safety published diagnostic reference levels for radio-guided interventional practices for 10 interventional radiology procedures and 2 interventional cardiology procedures, based on studies published by the French Society of Medical Physics in collaboration with the French Society of Radiology and the French Coronary Artery Disease and Interventional Cardiology Group. Reference levels for interventional procedures under CT guidance were also defined in 2020 following a national multicenter study coordinated by Nîmes University Hospital (NIMAO NRD-SI). However, no national multicentre studies have ever defined reference levels for radioguided interventional procedures in rhythmology. The aim of this study is to define standard national dosimetric levels for a number of radioguided interventional procedures in rhythmology.
