Specifically, they must report the following behaviors within the last 3 months:\n\n* sexual intercourse with a male\n* inconsistent\u002Fineffective condom use AND\n* inconsistent\u002Fineffective contraception use\n\nExclusion Criteria:\n\n* severe cognitive and\u002For psychiatric impairment that precludes cooperation with study protocol, per judgement of the interventionist or research staff\n* do not speak or read\u002Fwrite in English\n* unable to meet study requirements, including follow-up assessments","FEMALE","14 Years","19 Years",{"count":19,"type":20},400,"ESTIMATED","INTERVENTIONAL",[23],"NA","This randomized controlled trial will: 1) Test the efficacy of the CHOICES-TEEN (CT) intervention compared with an Attentional Control (AC) condition on reducing the risk of substance-exposed pregnancy (SEP) and HIV\u002FSTI among high-risk female youth involved with the juvenile justice system by reducing alcohol use, increasing marijuana cessation, reducing risk of pregnancy, and increasing condom use; 2) Test the efficacy of CT, compared to AC, on increasing cognitive self-regulation abilities; 3) Test proposed intervention mediators\u002Fmechanisms of action for CT overall and by race\u002Fethnicity; and 4) Test the moderating effect of initial readiness to change on risk of SEP and risk of HIV\u002FSTI.",[26,27,28,29,30],"Risk for an Alcohol-Exposed Pregnancy","Risk for Marijuana-Exposed Pregnancy","Risk for Substance-Exposed Pregnancy","HIV Risk","Sexually Transmitted Infection Risk","RECRUITING","2025-06-16",{"date":34,"type":35},"2025-06-19","ACTUAL",{"date":37,"type":35},"2022-04-08",{"date":39,"type":20},"2026-04-10",{"name":41,"class":42},"University of Texas at Austin","OTHER",""]
