Qigong and Multicomponent Exercise in Panic Disorder

Panic disorder is a psychiatric disease characterized by recurrent panic attacks that occur in expected or unexpected situations and create feelings of intense fear, restlessness and discomfort. Panic disorder often has a chronic course, its frequency and severity can be irregular, various physical, mental, and behavioral symptoms can develop, and the quality of life of individuals can decrease significantly. Evidence-based psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy are effective in reducing the symptoms of panic disorder and managing the disorder. However, both of these treatment methods have certain limitations, and approximately one-third of patients do not respond to therapy or the response is not sufficiently effective. Delaying treatment of the disease results in a poor prognosis and more established symptoms. Exercise can be viewed as a low-cost, supportive treatment for relieving symptoms with comparable efficacy to medication and other psychological interventions. Although exercise is recommended for patients with anxiety-panic disorder, there remains uncertainty about whether its effects are sustainable, the type and intensity of exercise required for effective treatment, and thus the effects of qigong and multicomponent exercise on multiple health outcomes in panic disorder. The aim of this study is to examine the effects of Qigong exercise training and multicomponent exercise training on anxiety-panic, balance, mobility, walking, functional strength, physical activity, sleep quality, fatigue, chronic musculoskeletal pain, quality of life and cognition.

Sarcopenia and Related Factors in Lipedema

Lipedema is a common disease of subcutaneous adipose tissue. The most common complaint of patients with swelling in the affected extremity is pain. In addition, patients with lipedema may experience conditions that can greatly affect the health and quality of life of the individual, such as loss of muscle strength and exercise capacity, and deterioration in activity levels of daily living. It is still unknown whether the decrease in muscle strength in patients with lipedema is part of this condition or whether decreased activity levels lead to decreased muscle strength. Sarcopenia is an important health problem characterized by age-related loss of muscle mass and muscle function. The relationship between muscle weakness and sarcopenia in patients with lipedema has not been investigated before. Early recognition of possible sarcopenia and functional limitations in these patients may be important to increase the ability of patients to participate in physical activity as part of their conservative management. There is no study in the literature investigating sarcopenia in patients with a diagnosis of lipedema. The aim of this study is to evaluate patients with a diagnosis of lipedema in terms of sarcopenia. In addition, the relationship between sarcopenia and age, body mass index, exercise frequency, lipedema type, and stage will be investigated in patients diagnosed with lipedema.

Effects of Myofascial Release Technique on Mobility, Sensorimotor Function and Performance in Volleyball Players

Sports that require overhead activities (volleyball, tennis, basketball) include components such as rapid displacement, strength and movement control.Volleyball is also called as an overhead sport in terms of the way it is played. In the realization of these sports; Sub-parameters such as proprioceptive sense, strength, throwing rate, flexibility play a role. During these activities, the shoulder and elbow joints are overloaded. To meet this load, the joint must provide the necessary mobility and stability. Proprioceptive sense in increasing the quality and width of movement as well as providing dynamic joint stability in overhead sports; Increasing the range of motion of the joint, reducing muscle stiffness and thus increasing flexibility are effective in providing mobility. That's why it's important to develop them. Likewise, muscle strength should be increased in order to maintain movement performance and prevent injuries. The use of myofascial release techniques as an exercise method has increased in recent years. Application; The effects on parameters such as strength, performance and flexibility were investigated. Studies have focused more on the lower extremities and acute effects. There is no study on the subject examining proprioceptive sensation in volleyball players in the upper extremity. Therefore, our aim is to examine the chronic effects of the application on shoulder and elbow joint mobility, sensorimotor function and performance.

Care Bundle Containing Chlorhexidine Dressing on Port Catheter and Central Venous Catheters

In order to provide treatment in pediatric hematology-oncology patients, in some cases a central venous catheter is required in children. The most important situation to pay attention to when using a central venous catheter is "Central line-associated bloodstream infections". These infections are infections that develop after admission to the hospital and are not in the incubation period at the time of admission, or although they usually develop in the hospital 48-72 hours after hospitalization, they can sometimes appear after discharge. Central line-associated bloodstream infections significantly increase morbidity and mortality. In this context, the effect of using a care bundle containing chlorhexidine dressing on port catheter and central venous catheter-related bloodstream infections in pediatric cancer patients was examined.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in Operating Room

In the last ten years patient safety during routine surgical interventions has increased; however as there is an increase in the number of specialized surgical interventions and high risk patients like elderly and emergency patients, the incidence of perioperative cardiac arrest has not reduced but remains fixed. The incidence of perioperative cardiac arrest varies from 4.3-34.6 for each 10,000 procedures. However as in a lot of other countries exact data are lacking also for Turkey. With this study the investigators want to start collecting data about intraoperative cardiac arrest in Turkey, starting at their institution The aim is to evaluate the incidence and outcome in the study. Secondary aim is to assess the causes of cardiac arrest in the operating room.
