Funcitonality and Safety of a Knee Device for Gait Rehabilitation in Neurological Patients

This clinical investigation aims to evaluate the safety, feasibility, and preliminary performance of the AKO-R wearable robotic device for knee assistance during walking. The study involves participants performing treadmill and overground gait training under supervised conditions, with the device providing assistive torque to support movement. Clinical and functional outcomes are assessed using validated measurement tools, while additional data are collected to characterize user performance and interaction with the device. The study is designed as an exploratory investigation to gather evidence supporting the clinical use and further development of the device. Primary outcomes regards safety of the device and preliminary clinical benefit on gait symmetry.

Clinical Evaluation of Intuitive, Bidirectional Strategies for the Control of Multi-articulated Prostheses for Upper Limb Amputation

The investigators propose to validate a non-invasive upper limb prosthesis capable of combining: 1) intuitive movement control through machine learning applied to myoelectric signals, and 2) vibrotactile sensory feedback in response to touch and object release events. The prosthesis is composed at the minimum of skin-surface electrodes for myoelectric signals, vibrotactile actuators, a multi-articulated and instrumented hand prosthesis and a centralized control system. Such system is validated for several weeks in non-supervised environments.

A Novel Accessible and Widespread Healthcare Service Model Based on Technology Innovation for Objective (Early) Diagnosis and Therapeutic Monitoring of Parkinson's Disease Promoting Continuity of Care

The present study aims to use the SensMode System - a system composed of wearable devices for upper and lower limb movement analysis and electronic device for data acquisition and processing - on healthy subjects, subjects with idiopathic hyposmia, patients with Parkinson's disease, and subjects with de-novo drug-naïve extrapyramidal syndrome. The purpose is to identify normative data of objective motor measures obtained with such a system, as well as to increase knowledge about the potential contribution such a solution can make to the preclinical diagnosis of Parkinson's disease and the management of patients with this disease.
