Knowledge, Attitudes, and Beliefs About Musculoskeletal Pain Among Primary Care Health Professionals in Spain.

Pain is influenced by psychological and emotional factors, and healthcare professionals may unintentionally contribute to chronic disability by reinforcing fear and limiting normal activity. Patients with chronic pain often feel they lack adequate information to manage their condition. This study aims to: * Assess primary care professionals' knowledge of pain neurophysiology in Spain. * Evaluate their attitudes and beliefs about chronic low back pain. * Examine their fear-avoidance beliefs related to pain. A cross-sectional study will gather data from primary care providers. The results will help guide educational strategies and policies to improve musculoskeletal pain management. This will be the first study in Spain to analyze these aspects among primary care professionals.

GEL-AID: Safe and Effective Hydration for Institutionalized Older Adults

The objective of this clinical trial is to assess whether hydration with gelled water (GEL-AID) can improve fluid intake and reduce cases of dehydration, as well as the incidence of urinary and respiratory infections in institutionalized elderly individuals in nursing homes. The main question this trial aims to answer is: • Do institutionalized elderly individuals hydrated with GEL-AID increase their daily fluid intake and reduce the incidence of dehydration, urinary infections, and respiratory infections? Participants: The control group will follow the center's usual hydration plan. Individuals with swallowing difficulties will receive thickened liquids and/or gelatin, while those without swallowing difficulties will be hydrated with unmodified liquids or gelatin. The intervention group will receive hydration with GEL-AID. For participants with swallowing difficulties, thickened liquids and gelatin will be replaced by GEL-AID, with texture adapted to their needs. Those without swallowing difficulties will receive unmodified liquids and GEL-AID instead of gelatin.

Telerehabilitation for Core Stability and Strength in Hereditary Ataxia

This is a two-arm, controlled clinical trial with a parallel design. Participants will be randomly assigned to an intervention or control group. The study is single-blind, as outcome assessors will be blinded to group allocation, while participants and physiotherapists cannot be blinded due to the nature of the intervention. Consecutive sampling will be applied. For the evaluation of intervention effects (primary and secondary outcomes), the study will follow the Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials (CONSORT) for non-pharmacological interventions. For the assessment of satisfaction and adherence, a qualitative study will be conducted following the COREQ EQUATOR 17 guidelines to ensure methodological rigor. The intervention will consist of a 12-week home-based exercise program supervised via mixed telerehabilitation (TR). The control group will perform the same program but receive only telephone follow-up. Four assessments will be conducted: baseline (T0), post-intervention (T1), three months follow-up (T2), and six months follow-up (T3).

Protocol to Improve the Representation of the Reproductive Process in Spanish Fiction.

The aim of this study is to promote the inclusive and plural representation of reproductive processes in Spanish fiction, in order to generate knowledge, emotional well-being and improve the quality of life of people in similar situations. The question to be answered is Will a handbook of good practices used in the training of scriptwriters and audiovisual creators, based on the testimonies of people experiencing reproductive processes and developed with the collaboration of experts (gynaecologists, midwives -ACL-, audiovisuals -Dones Visuals- and scriptwriters -Guionistes Associats-) promote the inclusive and updated representation of reproductive processes? Focus groups with people involved in reproductive processes and in-depth interviews with professionals involved in these processes will be carried out. A manual of good practices will then be developed in collaboration with audiovisual experts and scriptwriters.

HemoNIRS: a Paradigm Shift in the Process of Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation of ACL Injuries in Cyclic Sports Athletes.

Muscle haemodynamics has so far been assessed using at most 2-3 near-infrared spectroscopy devices on isolated muscles and without correlating variables. At the same time, research on musculoskeletal pathologies is limited, and there are no studies that analyse the haemodynamic changes that occur when the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is injured and whether these changes last over time. The aim of the study is to monitor and evaluate the physiological changes produced by ACL injury on muscle performance using non-invasive near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) devices in trained athletes. This descriptive cross-sectional observational multicentre multicentre study, with Balearic Islands ethics committee IB 5585/24PI, will include males aged 18-65 years who have undergone ACL surgery, divided into 3 groups that: have an evolution of less than 6 months (ACL1), more than 2 years since the surgical intervention and are already practising normal physical-sports activities (ACL2) and the control group (CON) that has never suffered an ACL affectation to date. The 3 groups will perform an incremental intervallic test (4:1) on a cycloergometer or treadmill (according to the specificity of their sport), where different muscular haemodynamic variables will be assessed using 12-24 NIRS devices. The main study variables will be the muscular haemodynamic values of each muscle analysed and their correlation between them: muscular oxygen saturation, absolute capillary haemoglobin, loaded and unloaded with oxygen and relative muscular haemoglobin blood flow, loaded and unloaded with oxygen. Secondary variables will be heart rate, socio-demographic variables (age, toxic habits, injury and sports history) and subjective perception of effort (RPE-20).

The Effectiveness of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation for Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy

Cerebral palsy describes a group of permanent disorders of the development of movement and posture, causing activity limitation that are attributed to non-progressive disturbances that occurred in the developing fetal or infant brain. Nowadays, CP is not fully curable, and physiotherapy should be used in conjunction with other interventions such as oral drugs, botulinum toxin type A, continuous pump-administered intrathecal baclofen, orthopaedic surgery and selective dorsal rhizotomy. However, several systematic reviews conclude that there is low evidence that these invasive therapies are more effective than placebo. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a type of neuromodulatory technique through magnetic impulses. The effect of rTMS depends on the frequency of the emitted electromagnetic field; low frequencies (≤1 Hz) lead to an inhibition of neuronal electrical activity at the stimulation site, while high frequencies (≥3 Hz) cause neuronal depolarization. The objective of the project is to evaluate the effectiveness of a repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) protocol, as an adjunct treatment to neurorehabilitation to improve gross motor function and quality of life in school-age children with spastic diplegia-type infantile cerebral palsy.
